Caulfield Students Share the Performing Arts

Hailey and her Grandma Margaret Rekunyk at The Madison Care Home show on Monday, April  24, 2017

Caulfield School of Dance Students were out sharing the performing arts in the community with two elder home shows in the last two weeks.

Isabel melted hearts performing her jazz solo at The Madison

All you Need is Love – that’s for sure!

“Fairy Friends” at The Madison

The first was at The Madison Care Centre, in Coquitlam, on Monday, April 24.
And on Monday, May 1, Caulfield students performed for residents, including former CSD tap instructor Donna Knapp, at The George Derby Centre, in Burnaby.

Hailey Rekynuk performed two ballet solos on April 24 for her Grandma, Margaret Rekynuk who is a resident at The Madison.

As well as performing his musical theatre solo, Nathan Piasecki took the role of Master of Ceremonies for the show at The Madison. (Thanks too to Nathan’s Mom Linda for playing the music!)

Nyla Devaras was the MC for the show at the George Derby Centre. And Miss Melody made sure we had music!

The dancers in “All Kinds of Kinds” did a lovely performance of their lyrical dance. (Sorry: no photos received! Parents please remember to send us photos after events!)

It was an especially sweet pleasure to watch “Trickle Trickle” with Donna Knapp, resident at the George Derby Centre, who choreographed a tap duo to this music on CSD tap teacher Hailley Caulfield Postle when she was 6 years old!

At both shows, students as young as five years old, sang and danced for the residents.

“De la vie d’un artiste” brought flowers and smiles to The Madison Care Centre

“When I Grow Up” were darlings at the George Derby show

The George Derby residents loved “We Got the Beat”!

“Can’t Stop the Feeling” these little groovers brought to the show on May 1, 2017

The “When You’re a Wimp” musical theatre number was fantastic!

“Hit Me with Your Best Shot” was certainly hit with the George Derby folks!

Thanks to Miss Vanessa for attending the show at the Madison (and for taking photos). And thanks to all the parents, and students, and teachers who made these many special moments happen!
