Based in Boulder, Colorado, Crystal Wills is an in-demand choreographer and instructor whose patience, passion, and distinctive creations have made her a cherished Guest Teacher and choreographer at Caulfield School of Dance.
Parallel to her teaching career, Crystal has toured with MOVE: the company and has received acclaim performing in works such as Josh Beamish’s Sold Doubt, Allemande, and Atonement, and Lara Barclay’s Caught Excerpt, in performances in B.C., Toronto, New York City, and Bangkok. Crystal has also toured with Lamondance in Germany and Brazil. Crystal has been commissioned to create work for MOVETHECOMPANY in recognition of her unique choreographic voice.
Crystal has also worked with renowned choreographers Serge Benethan, Cori Caulfield, Margie Gillis, Mark Godden, Christopher House, Farley Johansson, Edmond Kilpatrick, Shannon Moreno, Matjash Mrozewski, Simone Orlando, Crystal Pite, Acacia Schachte, and others.
In fall 2015, Crystal was the Assistant Choreographer for the Lifetime movie “Center Stage 3: On Pointe” which featured her Caulfield School of Dance student Lauren Phillips and fellow Caulfield School of Dance alumna and teacher Hailley Caulfield Postle.
Crystal did all her foundational training at Caulfield School of Dance. Beginning at the age of three, she trained intensively in ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary dance, and several other disciplines. In her graduating year from Caulfield School of Dance, Crystal was awarded the Provincial Senior Modern and Contemporary Dance title at the Performing Arts B.C. Festival of the Arts, otherwise known as “The Provincials”.
In 2005, Crystal graduated from the two year Ballet British Columbia Mentorship Program. She then apprenticed with choreographer Crystal Pite’s company Kidd Pivot. Crystal furthered her training with Lamondance and continues to work with choreographers Monica Proenca, Lara Barkley, and Davi Rodrigues. Crystal earned her Royal Academy of Dance teaching credentials from the C.B.T.S. two year teacher training program in 2009.
