The Royal Academy of Dance, or R.A.D., is the world’s leading organization for ballet instruction. The syllabi are progressive, expressive, and complete.
Caulfield School of Dance R.A.D. programs prepare students for optional examinations. Examination preparation courses are “closed” therefore enrolment requires teacher assessment and permission.
Because of the international recognition of the Academy, success in the later examinations can be used towards B.C. Ministry of Education graduation requirements, and greatly enhances all dance career options. Examinations always require the permission of the signing instructor(s).
Students in a full R.A.D. ballet program are eligible for closed Ballet Performance courses which prepare students for performing in our annual spring stage production. Some pieces also compete. Basic Ballet courses, which are all Pre-Primary and Primary and Ballet 1, Ballet 2, Ballet 3 and Teen Ballet include both technique instruction and preparing a performing piece, are also open to R.A.D. ballet program students.
