Friday, February 21 to Thursday, February 27, Caulfield dancers competed in the Jazz/Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Acro Sections of Chilliwack Lions Club Music and Dance Festival (CLCMDF) with great success.
Huge Congratulations to Mia Reitenbach, age 13 who will join Kaia Goddard at Provincials after being selected by the Chilliwack festival as their Intermediate age (ages 13 to 15 years) Jazz & Stage Dance Provincial Representative. Mia will perform her Jazz solo, and one other t.b.d. solo, also choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, in Cranbrook, in the annual Performing Arts BC Provincial Festival in June. We are so very proud of you, Mia!
Mia will perform her Jazz Solo at the he Chilliwack Lions Club Music and Dance Festival (CLCMDF) Honours Performance, 1pm this Sunday, March 8 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
With “I’ll Never Go Away”, choreographed by Danielle Gardner, our Professional Training Division placed 1st for Large Lyrical Group Age 15 years. Our Professional Training Division Large Jazz Group Age 16 years, “Another Way” choreographed by Lauren Taylor, placed 1st and was awarded a trophy over multiple categories. Our Professional Training Division number “Colourblind” choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, place 2nd in Small Lyrical Group Age 16 years. Our Performance Training Company placed 3rd for Group Jazz 11 years with “Groove is in the Heart”, choreographed by Lauren Taylor.
“Another Way” will also perform at the Chilliwack Honours Performance this Sunday, March 8, at 1:00pm, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
Kaia Goddard placed 1st for her Jazz Solo 16 years, choreographed by Lauren Taylor. Thea Harmse placed 1st for her Lyrical Solo 10 years, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle. Mia Reitenbach placed 2nd for her Jazz Solo 13 years, and Sadie Reyburn placed 2nd for her Lyrical Solo 14 years, both choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle
Thea Harmse and Julia Jacobson placed 2nd for their Lyrical Duo 9 – 10 years, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle.
Our Hip Hop 2 Closed group placed 2nd for Group Hip Hop 10 years with “Unseen Forces” choreographed by Stew Iguidez.
Our two Acro entries, “Creators” and “Lights Will Guide You Home”, both choreographed by Lauren Taylor, both placed 1st in their categories. “Lights Will Guide You Home” also received a trophy over multiple categories. Aerin Chow, placed 2nd for her Acro Solo 9 years choreographed by Tyler Ayres and Lauren Taylor.
