CSD alumna Elle Cunnings performing “Mickey’s Sail a Wave Party” on the Disney Wonder cruise ship
Caulfield School of Dance alumna (2017) Elle Cunnings, is back from her contract with Disney Cruise Lines, and will be performing on the Main Stage at Port Moody’s Car-Free Day this Sunday, August 18.
Elle loved performing on Disney Cruise Lines’ ship the Disney Wonder. She can’t post anything specifically related to the Disney characters she played, but the shows she performed in are “Mickey’s Sail a Wave Party”and “Disney’s Dreams: An Enchanted Classic”.
“Disney’s Dreams: An Enchanted Classic” features some of the favourite Disney Characters, and wonderful singing and dancing, including songs: “A Whole New World” (Aladdin), “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” (Cinderella), “Part of Your World” (The Little Mermaid), “Belle” (Beauty and the Beast), “For the First Time in Forever” (Frozen) and “Let It Go”, and “When You Wish Upon a Star” (Pinocchio).
Elle says: “My experience as a cast member on board the Disney Wonder was like no other! I am forever grateful to have danced alongside Mickey Mouse and his pals and wouldn’t trade it for the world. During my seven months at sea I traveled to twelve different countries, and sailed through the Panama Canal. Exploring different parts of the world with fellow performers is an adventure I’ll never forget!” Elle’s ship sailed the Panama Canal, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera.
Like CSD alumna Madison Simms, who is also just back from making her childhood Disney dreams come true, Elle also graduated in 2017 after growing up at Caulfield School of Dance. Elle trained for 14 years in Musical Theatre, Solo Voice, Jazz/Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, R.A.D. Ballet, and Modern and Contemporary dance. She is a recipient of numerous awards and scholarships from Surrey Festival of Dance, Caulfield School of Dance, Performing Arts BC, and others.
In her graduating year, Elle was selected by the Chilliwack Lions Club Festival as the Senior (ages 16-20 years) Modern and Contemporary Dance Provincial Representative Runner-up and, that same year, at age 17, Elle was also selected as the Provincial Pacific West Representative for Voice: Musical Theatre, Age 15-18 years.
Elle is currently teaching dance in the lower mainland and will be performing with Hip Hop Team EP Ryderz under the direction of Eric Perena in the coming season.
