Racheal Prince (Ballet BC, Alberta Ballet, Dance//Novella, etc.) will be teaching Ballet Technique and Contemporary Ballet Repertoire in the Multidisciplinary Intensive Week 2, at Caulfield School of Dance August 31 to September 4.

This summer, we are returning to the use of our beautiful facility with new health and safety measures that include disinfecting between classes and each student having twice the recommended Distancing space in classes.

Each Multidisciplinary Summer Intensive Week gives young dancers at 3 levels daily classes in key dance disinclines and classes in conditioning. The faculty includes international guest artists. More information on other Summer faculty is posted on this website and our Facebook page.

We are very exited to have Brandon Lee Alley and Racheal Prince (Ballet BC, Alberta Ballet, Dance//Novella, etc.) teaching several Contemporary/ Contemporary Ballet based classes in Week 2, with former Principal Dancer and R.A.D. examiner Isabel Yuan teaching Classical Ballet Technique.

Racheal Prince joined Ballet BC at age 23 after four seasons with The Alberta Ballet. As a Co-Founder and Director of Dance//Novella she has made new works for Arts Umbrella PReP, Lamondance Company, Alberta Ballet School as well as the Richmond Academy of Dance. Racheal is a teacher, mentor and rehearsal director for Lamondance and is proud to be the 2020/21 Lamondance resident choreographer.

Racheal received her training at the Quinte Ballet School under the direction of Brian Scott. She then moved to Calgary, Alberta, to attend the Alberta Ballet School’s Post Graduate Program where she was the recipient of the Ali Pourfarrokh scholarship and was the first program graduate to join the company. With The Alberta Ballet Company, Racheal danced works by George Balanchine, Emily Molnar, Margie Gillis, Christopher Wheeldon, Jean Grand-Maître and many others. With Ballet BC she performed nationally and internationally at venues such as Sadler’s Wells, Movimentos Festival Wolfsburg, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Fall for Dance NYC, and International Dance Festival Birmingham UK. Her performance highlights include Jorma Elo’s 1st Flash, Johan Inger’s Walking Mad and B.R.I.S.A, William Forsythe’s Enemy in the Figure and Work Within Work as well as works by Sharon Eyal and Ohad Naharin. After twelve incredible years with the company  Racheal took on the roll of Assistant Rehearsal Director for the 2019/20 Ballet BC season and set the ensemble work for Medhi Walerski’s Romeo & Juliet (featuring Kirsten Wicklund as Juiet) as well as Prelude.

Since 2019, when Racheal and her partner Brandon Lee Alley created Dance//Novella as a dance collective that focuses on creation and collaboration, she has  furthered her work as a teacher, mentor, rehearsal director, and choreographer. Racheal is delighted to be able to share her gifts with aspiring young dancers during the Caulfield School of Dance 2020 Summer Intensives.
