Congratulations to all the performers in the six Caulfield School of Dance numbers that competed yesterday, May 13, 2017, in the “No Borders Group Dance Challenge” hosted by Surrey Festival of Dance.
And very special Congratulations to Hailley Caulfield Postle’s “Idlewild Blues” which won the Intermediate age category (13 to 15 years) “Stage” competition, which includes 1st place numbers in Song and Dance/Musical Theatre, Tap, Stage No Voice, Lip Synch, Acro Dance, and Acro. After one (short!) emergency rehearsal in the morning, the cast had to compete without Tiffany, who was too sick to dance. Special thanks to Elle for her work with the cast all year, and particularly yesterday!
Competing in that same section was Cori Caulfield’s “Then I Hear That Beat” (invited with full scholarship from Surrey Festival), which also had to compete without Tiffany at the last minute; and Hailley Caulfield Postle’s “Fireball” (invited with full scholarship from Surrey Festival). The casts of both of these numbers were fabulous.
Hailley Caulfield Postle’s “Rule the World” (1st place in their category, and 2nd highest score of all Lyrical groups Age 13 and Over at Burnaby Synergy Dance competition) also had to compete without Tiffany at the last minute in the Intermediate age level “Jazz” competition, which includes 1st placing numbers in Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, and Hip Hop.
And two Caulfield numbers competed in the Intermediate age level “Ballet” competition, which includes 1st placing numbers in Classical Ballet, Demi-Character Ballet, Interpretive Ballet, Group Classical Variation, Contemporary Ballet, Contemporary Dance, and Modern Dance. Cori Caulfield’s “Grace 2” (selected with full scholarship to represent the entire Ballet Section and the entire Modern/ Contemporary section of Chilliwack Lions’ Club Festival), competed very well missing Tiffany; and Cori Caulfield’s “Twilight with Venus” (invited with full scholarship from Surrey Festival) did a beautiful presentation of their piece.
Huge thanks to all the parents of the competitors, especially those who volunteered all day for Ticket Sales at the school! You are wonderful.
Happy Mothers’ Day!
