Caulfield School of Dance student Amanda Lau, age 17, is a nominee for the 13th annual Ovation! Awards, presented by APPLAUSE! Musicals Society. Amanda will also perform at the event which is Sunday, January 29 at 7:00pm. Tickets are available here.
As seen in the Georgia Straight, Amanda is nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Performance” for her role of Rumpleteazer in the musical CATS produced by Fighting Chance Productions. Amanda was also nominated for this role for a “Best Supporting Actress” award at the Community Theatre Coalition Awards held in late 2016. She was a presenter for the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and sang “Memory” from CATS at that event.
Amanda says she is “thrilled and honoured to be nominated and recognized amongst her peers and seasoned performers”.
Amanda’s next musical will be Ragtime – In Concert, running from February 6-11, 2017 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.
