Classes for 2 to 7 year-olds are either Regular Courses which run September to June, or Sessional Courses that run in 4 sessions: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Sessional courses are all non-performing, 6 – 12 week courses. They are a great way to experience the wonder of the performing arts without a full September to June year commitment.
Adult courses are Sessional only.
This is a tentative schedule and course times may change. Please log in to our registration system to view the most up-to-date schedule.
Registration for Fall Sessional programs open August 16 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions
My child’s age falls into two different groups, what should I register for?
If your child has not danced before, it may be better to enroll them in the lower age group. If your child has done classes with the Caulfield School of Dance before, then it is up to you based on your individual child.
Can I come in to the studio with my child?
We encourage children to be as independent as possible and having parents in the studio can be distracting for children. Therefore, except for Parent and Tot Dance, parents are asked to wait in the lobby or outside. However, if your young child is new to dance classes and needs some help adjusting please ask the instructor about coming in for the first class.
What should my child wear to class?
Ballet students should wear a bodysuit with tights or white socks and ballet slippers. Always tuck in draw strings of slippers. Skirts or tutus are permitted but not required. Please make sure that your child’s skirt fits properly and is not distracting. Hair should be in a ballet bun if possible. If hair is not long enough for a bun, please make sure hair is pulled back off the face.
Tap, Jazz, Acro and Hip Hop students can wear fitted athletic wear. No jeans and no baggy clothes. Tap shoes are required for Tap class. Jazz students should wear slip-on black leather jazz shoes. Hip Hop students should have clean, indoor sneakers. Please make sure hair is pulled back off the face.
Dance attire can be purchased from The Dance Box in Coquitlam.
Will my child be performing?
Children in sessional courses will not be performing in the year-end show. Only children in full-year (Sept to June) courses will perform. If you are interested in transferring your child from a sessional course to a full-year course please contact us at admin@caulfield.bc.ca.
