You can apply now to have a solo, duo, or trio dance piece choreographed by CSD Choreographer and Instructor Amber Funk Barton or Guest Choreographer Crystal Wills in July and/or August, for competing in the 2019/2020 dance season.

Amber Funk Barton is choreographing solo/duo/trio pieces and teaching August 12-16, in the Caulfield School of Dance Ballet and Contemporary Dance Summer Intensive Weeks
Amber Funk Barton, will be teaching the Contemporary component of the August 12 to August 16, 2019, “Weeks B and C” of Caulfield School of Dance Ballet and Contemporary Dance Summer Intensives. Creation sessions with Ms. Amber will be at the end of the 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, Intensive Week B/C days (and possibly some dates in July and August before and after these dates too.)
Intensive Week B/C are for two levels:
Grade III – V R.A.D. or equivalent/with instructor approval (Week B)
AND
Intermediate R.A.D. and above or equivalent/with instructor approval (Week C). See below for more information on Intensive Weeks, or click here.
Ms. Amber has been teaching the Contemporary component of the Caulfield School of Dance Half Day Training program since September 2017. If you were fortunate enough to see the piece she created for the 2018-2019 program’s dancers, “Ghost Lights,” (which placed 2nd in the field of 35 ensembles at the Seattle Youth American Grand Prix Semi-Finals and was invited to compete at the 2019 New York City Y.A.G.P. Finals) you have had a glimpse into this amazing teacher’s creativity and craft.

Featuring Guest Faculty and Caulfield School of Dance teachers, the Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensive weeks are an invaluable experience. Even one full week produces amazing improvement. The Ballet and Contemporary Summer Intensive gives aspiring ballet and contemporary dancers daily classes in ballet, contemporary, and repertoire. There will also be classes in conditioning instructed by teachers in their fields of expertise such as Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique, etc.
The 2019 Ballet and Contemporary Intensive Weeks are:
Weeks A and B; for Grade III – V RAD (or equivalent/with instructor approval) dancers:
Week A: Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Week B: Monday, August 12 to Friday August 16, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Weeks C and D; for Intermediate and Advanced (Intermediate Foundation RAD and above) or equivalent levels:
Week C: Monday, August 12 to Friday August 16, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Week D: Monday, August 19 to Friday August 23, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
The Multidiscipline Summer Intensive Weeks are
Week 1: Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Week 2: Monday, August 26 to Friday, August 30, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
The Multidiscipline Summer Intensive Weeks are for three levels:
Junior, Ages 7+ (Suggested 1 – 2 years experience):
Intermediate, Ages 9+ (Suggested 3+ years experience):
Advanced, Ages 12+ (Intermediate or higher R.A.D. Ballet level and/or Advanced Tap).
