Caulfield School of Dance alumnus Ben Freemantle promoted to Soloist at San Francisco Ballet Company
As reported by the Tri-City News, Caulfield School of Dance alumnus Ben Freemantle, age 22, has been promoted to the rank of Soloist at the San Francisco Ballet Company.
Ben was given an apprentice contract with this esteemed company when he was only 18 years old. He was almost immediately dancing soloists and even principal parts. Since taking his full company member contract at age 19, he has consistently received glowing notice for his work by choreographers, and the press, including Ann Murphy complimenting his “particularly charming” work in Mark Morris’ “Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes”.
Ben is not only talented, he is exceptionally hard working. Beyond applying himself to the utmost in daily company class, and rehearsals, Ben also swims for an hour each day and pursues a variety of cross training methods to give him a special edge in a field of the world’s strongest young dancers.
We are so very proud of Ben’s latest promotion and look forward to watching his continual rise in the very highest echelons of international classical dance.
Congratulations Ben!
