
Caitlin Griffin joins the Caulfield School of Dance Ballet Faculty
We are thrilled to announce that Caitlin Griffin will be teaching Ballet at Caulfield School of Dance in the 2019/20 year. Caitlin will teach open ballet technique from the Gr II R.A.D. level up to the highest Vocational level of ballet including instructing in the Professional Training Division Half Day training option. We are so excited to also have her instructing Intro Pointe, Pointe Work, and pas de deux; Caitlin is also fully certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique® and will be instructing in that revolutionary training method at CSD as well.
As a professional dancer, Caitlin has performed across Canada, and in China, Thailand, and Israel, working with companies including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Joshua Beamish’s MOVE: the company, and Sony Pictures (“Center Stage: Turn it Up”). She was a featured professional performer in the 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies together with Alberta Ballet and Ballet BC. Caitlin is also well known for her work in contemporary dance and is an active member of the Margie Gillis (Member of the Order of Canada, etc.) Legacy Project.
Caitlin choreographs ballet and contemporary dance for stage and screen, international competitions, events and galas. Acting as Ballet Choreographer for Team Canada West in 2014, Caitlin’s choreography won 4 gold medals at the international competition in Poland. She is currently an instructor at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver where she teaches Ballet with a focus on using imagery to understand the physics behind the technique.
Caitlin is a sought-after ballet adjudicator and guest teacher for youth, focusing on healthy technique, balanced bodies and injury prevention. Caitlin is also the founder of #hdisfordancing, an initiative to raise awareness for the Huntington Disease Community in Canada through dance.
