Caulfield School of Dance instructor Ms. Isabel Yuan will be teaching Ballet, August 19 to August 23 for the CSD Summer Intensive Weeks.
In this 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday week, Ms. Yuan will teach students of both Multidiscipline Intensive Week 1 and Ballet and Contemporary Dance Intensive Week D.
The Multidiscipline Intensive Weeks are for three levels:
Junior, Ages 7+ (Suggested 1 – 3 years experience):
Intermediate, Ages 9+ (Suggested 3+ years experience):
Advanced, Ages 12+ (Intermediate or higher R.A.D. Ballet level and/or Advanced Tap).
Ballet and Contemporary Dance Intensive Week D is for students at the “Vocational Ballet Training” = Intermediate R.A.D. and higher or (equivalent/with instructor approval) level.

Former Principal Dancer, Ms. Isabel Yuan, was appointed as a Vocational Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance in 2005, and a Dual Examiner in 2011. Ms. Yuan’s teaching credentials include: the National Ballet Professional Dancer Teaching Certification (N.B.S. P.D.T.C.), Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing, Advanced Certification and Associate Certification (A.I.S.T.D.), Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Certification (R.A.D. R.T.S.) and the Cecchetti Associate and Advanced Certificates (A.D.C.C.-C.I.C.B.).
In demand worldwide as a Master Teacher, her Guest Teaching credits include the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School of Canada, the Bejing National Ballet School, and the National Ballet School of New Zealand. With her international touring as an Examiner and Master Teacher, Ms. Yuan’s professional enrichment is constant.
Born in China, Ms. Yuan began professional Russian training at the Beijing Ballet Academy at the age of ten. After graduating with distinction in all subjects, she immediately went on to dance professionally in Japan. As a Principal with Japan’s Tani Ballet Company (under the name Kasumi Hayashi), and as a Guest Artist with the Houston Ballet Company in the U.S., the National Ballet of Canada, and others, she danced leading roles in the most famous classical ballets, such as Les Sylphides, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake.
After her teacher training at Canada’s National Ballet School, Ms. Yuan taught Teacher Training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, and students of both the Professional and General Divisions. Ms. Yuan moved to BC in the summer of 1998 and began teaching at Caulfield School of Dance that September.

Ms. Yuan has taught at Caulfield School of Dance for over twenty years and has been instrumental in the success of many of our graduates who enjoy thriving performing arts careers today. We are very grateful to have her expertise and passion for classical dance at this School!

- Any 2 Weeks for $540.00 +gst

Featuring Guest Faculty and Caulfield School of Dance teachers, the Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensive weeks are an invaluable experience. Even one full week produces amazing improvement. The Ballet and Contemporary Summer Intensive gives aspiring ballet and contemporary dancers daily classes in ballet, contemporary, and repertoire. There will also be classes in conditioning instructed by teachers in their fields of expertise such as Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique, etc.
The 2019 Ballet and Contemporary Intensive Weeks are:
Weeks A and B; for Grade III – V RAD (or equivalent/with instructor approval) dancers:
Week A: Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Week B: Monday, August 12 to Friday, August 16, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Weeks C and D; for Intermediate and Advanced (Intermediate Foundation RAD and above) or equivalent levels:
Week C: Monday, August 12 to Friday, August 16, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Week D: Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23, 2019 – 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
