CSD instructor Jocelyn Gauthier takes the lead role in “Mamma Mia!” at T.U.T.S.
The Theatre Under the Stars production of “Newsies” has CSD alumna Lyndsey Britten as Assistant Choreographer, and CSD student Nathan Piasecki as a Newsie. And now, CSD Musical Theatre Department Head Jocelyn Gauthier has stepped-in to “Mamma Mia!” to replace the lead, who could not finish the run.
Jocelyn had her first performance on Friday night after learning the whole show in four days last week! She will be performing the role of Donna until “Mamma Mia!” closes this Saturday, August 24.
Jocelyn says, “Needless to say, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind, but I’m overjoyed to have the opportunity to play such an iconic role! I’m also honoured that the T.U.T.S. team trusted me to take on such a big responsibility in a short amount of time.”
On Monday, Jocelyn begins teaching Musical Theatre in the Caulfield School of Dance, Multidiscipline Intensive Weeks 1 and 2, August 19 to 23, and August 26 to 30.
