Drop-in Dance Classes in Port Moody, Tuesdays & Thursdays

Caulfield School of Dance offers Ballet and Jazz Technique drop-in classes for children and teens; and Adult Ballet drop-in classes, in Port Moody (Tri-Cities area of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, etc. BC) to August 8.

The Adult Ballet and Ballet Technique drop-in classes for children ages 6 and up, are every Tuesday, July 2 to August 6, and taught by CSD instructor Dawn Braun Crawford.

Dawn Braun Crawford teaches Ages 6 to Adult Drop-in Ballet Classes, July 2 – Aug 6, 2019, at Caulfield School of Dance

Dawn Braun Crawford R.A.D. R.T.S., B.Sc.
Ms. Dawn Braun Crawford, a teacher and choreographer for over 20 years, brings her wealth of knowledge and experience to the Ballet faculty of Caulfield School of Dance. Dawn will be teaching Summer Ballet Technique Drop-in Classes and, starting September of 2019, levels IV and V of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, Open Ballet Technique, Progressing Ballet Technique®, and Introductory Pointe courses, etc. at CSD.

For over 15 years, Dawn has been serving as a professor for the Trinity Western University Human Kinetics Department; been involved in the continued development of the T.W.U. dance program; and lectured for the Fine Arts Department. 

Dawn graduated with distinction from Trinity Western University with a Bachelor of Science (Biology Major and Psychology Minor). She then pursued postgraduate studies in Ballet, and Modern and Contemporary Dance through Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, and studied Science and Visual Arts at University of the Fraser Valley. In addition to her yearly Continued Professional Development (CPD) program courses through the R.A.D., she continues to research advanced stretching techniques, safe development of optimal turnout, and other key dance training elements. Most recently, Dawn studied the Italian method of Floor Barre in New York.

Dawn takes great pride in investing in each of her students, mentoring many through their professional careers, guiding and supporting them as dance professionals, teachers and dance studio owners. She is dedicated to helping her students discover and fulfill their fullest potential through the joy of learning and discovery.

Ballet Technique Drop-In Classes 

Level A Ballet Technique (R.A.D. Primary and Grade I or equivalent) Usually Ages 6+
Tuesdays, 5:45 – 6:45 PM, July 2 to August 6, 2019

Level B Ballet Technique (R.A.D. Grade II and III or equivalent) Usually Ages 8+
Tuesdays, 6:45 – 7:45 PM, July 2 to August 6, 2019

  • Single Drop-In* – $15.50 +gst
  • 3 Class Package – $42.50 +gst
  • 6 Class Package – $80.00 +gst

Level C/Vocational Technique (R.A.D. Grade IV/V Level to Intermediate or equivalent) Usually Ages 10+
Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:45 PM,  July 2 to August 6, 2019

  • Single Drop In* – $18.50 +gst
  • 4 Class Package – $70.00 +gst
  • 6 Class Package – $99.00 +gst
  • 10 Class Package – $160.00 +gst

* Please come 15 minutes before your class starts to pay to drop in if you do not have a Package.

Any classes taken beyond the number purchased for a package are charged at the per class rate of the purchased package (the per class reduced) rate with is lower than the regular drop-in rate.

There are no refunds or credits for unused portions of Packages.

Ballet and Jazz Technique Maintenance Drop-In Classes are also highly recommended, and very helpful to the faculty in assessing students for level placement for the upcoming year.

Jazz Technique Drop-in Classes

Ages 8+

Thursdays 6:00 – 7:15 pm, July 4 to August 8, 2019

  • Single Drop In* – $18.50 +gst
  • 4 Class Package – $70.00 +gst
  • 6 Class Package – $99.00 +gst
  • 10 Class Package – $160.00 +gst

Summer Pods are intense 1-2 hour technique classes for dancers enrolled in a Summer Technique Maintenance Program.* These classes e highly effective in advancing skills in Ballet, Jazz and Tap Technique. Approximate Ages: 8 – 12 years.
*Pod classes can only be taken with the purchase of Ballet and/or Jazz Technique Maintenance Classes Package.
