Congratulations to all of our dancers who performed at the Synergy Burnaby Solo/Duo/Trio Tour last Friday, July 24, at Michael J. Fox Theatre!
All of our dancers performed beautifully and we are very grateful to Synergy for offering this performance opportunity after such a difficult competition season with so many cancellations.
Rachelle Payandeh, Age 17, performed her last solos as a student of Caulfield School of Dance at this Synergy event. Her Modern solo, choreographed by Cori Caulfield, placed 8th over all genres for Senior Solos (Age 17 – 19); and her Contemporary, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle also placed in the Top 10 highest marks of the competition. Rachelle also received “Judges Choice” awards for both solos.
Congratulations on finishing your time as a competitive dancer with such beautiful performances of your graduation solos, Rachelle!
Casey Jaya, Age 5, competed for the first time ever(!) and was our youngest dancer in this event. She was the Highest Scoring Soloist across all genres for Minis (Age 4 – 8 years), and will be advancing to the Virtual 2020 Synergy Provincials with her Classical Ballet Solo choreographed and coached by Julia Zennstrom (with additional coaching in lead up to the competition by Lauren Taylor). Casey also received a “Judges Choice” award.
That is quite the début as a dance soloist, Casey!
Kaia Goddard was recognized with a “Diamond Score” and as the 4th highest scoring soloist across all genres for Teens, (Age 15 – 16 years) for her Contemporary Solo Age 16, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle. Kaia’s Self-Choreographed Solo, and her Lyrical Solo choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, were also in the Top 10 highest marks of the competition for Teens.
Lorena Morissette was recognized as the 6th highest scoring soloist across all genres in the Teens age group for her Lyrical Solo Age 16 and received a “Judges Choice” award; and Emma Langtry was recognized as the 7th highest scoring soloist across all genres for Teens, for her Tap Solo Age 15; both solos were choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle. Elena Yu 
was recognized as the 9th highest scoring solo across all genres for Teens for her Contemporary Solo Age 15, choreographed by Cori Caulfield, and received a “Judges Choice” award; and Elena also received a “Judges Choice” award for her Solo Lyrical 15 years choreographed by Lauren Taylor.
Thea Harmse, Age 10, had the 9th highest overall scoring solo of the Petite category (Ages 9 – 10) at the competition with her Lyrical Solo choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle. Thea also received a “Judges Choice” award.
