Musical Theatre group courses offer singing, acting, and dancing instruction for ages five and above. Each course culminates in a theatrical song and dance number for Caulfield School of Dance annual spring stage productions. Higher level courses may also compete.
Voice Instruction is an integral part of our group Musical Theatre courses, and Vocal Technique group courses for start at age 5. Many aspects of performing beyond the technique of singing, are developed though Vocal Technique group courses like all “Technique” courses, do not prepare performance pieces.
Private Voice Instruction to prepare songs for auditions, competition, and/or song and dance performance pieces is also available* to select students
Being able to sing drastically improves employment options and opportunities in the performing arts.
Acting or dramatic arts training is should be part of any performers background. It builds confidence, imagination, and speaking ability and so is a huge advantage not only in the performing arts but also in the performance arena called life! Acting instruction is a very important aspect of Music Theatre group courses and acting skills are also taught in Voice Technique courses.
Private or Semiprivate instruction is available* in Acting to develop skills or to prepare performing pieces for auditioning, Speech Arts competing, etc..
Our Performance Training Company programs are an excellent preparation for a future in the performing arts (which is always most possible for the “Triple Threat” singer/ dancer/ actor) and an invaluable breadth program for the future classical dancer.
Every Company Member is given a program which includes group Technique courses in all the disciplines offered in the School. Access to all group instruction is limited only by level.
The Performance Training Company’s primary goal is to make affordable the finest education in dance, singing, and acting for students who put their performing arts training first, whether they wish to pursue a career in the field or not.
