“The ballet students certainly did not make it easy to select one who was the most expressive in ballet classes from Wednesday, January 28 to Friday, February 6! I tried to find one student (or maybe two at the most!) who PERFORMED in their ballet classwork instead of just doing it like exercise. But I could not narrow it to less than four.”
Miss Cori will be awarding a ticket to see a film of a live ballet at a movie theatre to each of these students:
Nathalie Brown (Grade V R.A.D.)
Erin Boyd (Sr. Ballet Repertoire)
Carter Hayes (Grade IV R.A.D.)
Lauren Phillips (Adv. II R.A.D. and Sr. Ballet Repertoire)
The winners of a ticket can chose to attend either of the ballets on film below:

THE BOLSHOI BALLET ENCORE
Romeo and Juliet
In Verona, the rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues brings bloodshed to the city. When the Capulets organise a masked ball in honour of their daughter Juliet, Romeo Montague and his friend Mercutio attend incognito because of the hatred that tears the two houses apart. Romeo and Juliet fall madly in love, and are distraught when they realise they belong to rival families.
William Shakespeare’s timeless story, written in 1595, is brought to the stage through breathtaking choreography and Sergei Prokofiev’s much-loved score. With its famous melodies, rhythmic variety and universal theme, this story of impossible love remains an all-time favourite, and is one of the world’s most popular ballets.
Stellar performances by Alexander Volchkov and Anna Nikulina illuminate this masterpiece, making the immortal tale of the lovers of Verona an unforgettable experience.
