Tiana Pazdirek will perform “Fever” by Hailley Caulfield Postle at Worlds in Germany, in December 2015.
As reported by the TriCity News (page A13 July 1, 2015), Team Canada Dance 2015 selected Tiana Pazdirek, age 17, and fellow Caulfield School of Dance senior tap group members Rebekah Gill, age 14, Jaelan Mills, age 16, and Kirsten Volberg, age 13, to represent our country for the 2015 World Tap Dance Championships. Tiana, Rebekah, and Jaelan are selected for the Adult Tap team, and Kirsten for the Junior.
Tiana Pazdirek, age 17, has now been selected as the only member from her Team to also compete as a soloist at the Championships in Reisa, Germany this December.
All dancers selected for the Teams had the opportunity to audition for the chance to represent Canada as soloists. Tiana auditioned with her solo “Fever” choreographed by her Caulfield School of Dance teacher and choreographer Hailley Caulfield Postle. The Team Canada directors selected this solo, with which Tiana placed 1st in her field and earned the highest marks over all senior tap soloists at two of her regional 2015 competitions, as the Team’s only Adult Tap Solo.
Tiana says: “I am very excited and honoured to be representing Canada with what I love to do, not only with the Adult Team group, but also by myself doing a solo. Both my parents went to the Olympics for skating but this is my first international completion. I can’t wait to wear our country colours proudly when I step onto the World Stage in Germany. ”
Tiana and her three classmates train in multiple disciplines at Caulfield School of Dance but only auditioned for the national tap team. All four do all their tap training under Hailley Caulfield Postle. They have been rehearsing their group pieces for Worlds since July 18. Team Canada will compete against teams from at least 22 other countries at the World Tap Dance Championships 2015.
Congratulations Tiana, on being selected as the only soloist from your Team Canada! Your Caulfield School of Dance family is very proud of you!
