Hayden Fong, one of the Guest Instructors for the 2016 Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensives
Hayden Fong will be teaching Contemporary Dance as one of the Guest Instructors for the 2016 Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensives.
Hayden first started dancing at his high school in Vancouver, BC, with urban dance styles Bboying, House, Popping and Hip Hop. After deciding to pursue a career in dance, he trained for two years at the Drive Scholarship Program. There he studied many styles from Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz, to Ballroom and Contact Improv. He has also trained with many companies such as Rubberband Dance, MartaMartaHop, and EDAM Dance.
His passion now lies in mixing his skills in Urban dance with the techniques of Contemporary performance contexts. He is actively working in both contemporary and commercial dance. As a commercial Dancer Hayden has worked on many music videos for artists like Nelly Furtado; and feature films such as “Step Up 5” and “Jinxed”. As a contemporary dancer, he has worked with large shows like Kinesis Dance’s “Box4”, Shay Kuebler’s “Karoshi” and “Glory”, as well as 605 Collectives “Audible” and “Inheritor Album”. Currently Hayden is working with the 605 Collective on a new creation after just premiering and going a Canadian Nation Tour with their new piece “Vital Few”.

Sometimes those who do not participate fully in the Intensive weeks find it difficult to keep up in the September Company and Division Workshops.
Ballet and Jazz Technique Maintenance Drop-In Classes, are also very helpful to the faculty in assessing students for level placement for the 2016-2017 year.
