Sarah Corrigan, one of the Guest Instructors for the 2016 Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensives
Born and raised in Vancouver, Sarah trained extensively at Spotlight Dance Centre under the direction of Jane Weiss for thirteen years in ballet, jazz, contemporary/modern, musical theatre, tap, and hip hop. Sarah also began acting early on with credits that include Mattel, Save On Foods, Bubblicious Bursts, and Kitchen Aid.
After graduation, Sarah became a member of The Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich where she was given opportunities to perform around the lower mainland, Kelowna, and the Sunshine Coast. During her year in The Source, Sarah fell in love with hip hop and urban styles which fuelled her decision to focus more on commercial styles and expand her dance knowledge.
Sarah has spent the last 2 years as part of Kill The Lights (KTL), a hip-hop based company under the direction of Ken Yung and Shauna Smith. Sarah has performed all around the country in shows like Canada’s Got Talent, BC Lions Half-Time Show, and Whistler’s World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Sarah continues to train intensively in Vancouver and the United States (Millennium Dance Complex, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, and the Connection). She was also fortune to work on the R.L. Stone film “Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls” last year as a actor and movement performer.
Sarah’s background gives her a special insight into training young “studio” dancers in Hip Hop which she will bring to her work with the students taking the Caulfield School of Dance 2016 Summer Intensives.
