Caulfield School of Dance students competed in both the Competitive and Pre-Competitive sections of the Burnaby Synergy Dance competition from Tuesday, April 23 to Sunday, April 28.
“Rise” Group Lyrical age 13, awarded 1st place + Platinum score, were the 3rd Highest Scoring Group of the entire Pre-Competitive Section
In the Competitive Section:
Congratulations to “Can’t Take My Mind Off of You”, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, for being the Highest Scoring Lyrical Group in the entire Synergy Burnaby competition (all ages), and for receiving one judge’s Synergy “Showdown” Champion selection; Kaia Goddard and Carter Hayes who are the Contemporary Duo of the Year and Top Teen Duo of the Year, for their Contemporary Duo Age 15, choreographed by Cori Caulfield; and Lincoln Russo for being awarded the Top Mini Dancer of the Year for his Tap Solo, Age 7, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle.
Congratulations as well to Ms. Hailley Caulfield Postle for her Choreography Award for Kirsten Volberg’s Solo Tap.
At the competition’s finals event, “Synergy Showdown”, the following four numbers, selected as the Highest Scoring Group numbers of their genres, will also be advancing to the Synergy Provincial Finals, May 25 and 26:
“Can’t Take My Mind Off of You”, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, Top Scoring Lyrical Group, received the trophy for Lyrical Group of the Year; also selected as one of the Final Overall Top Group of the competition;
“Dark World”, Acro Group Age 13, choreographed by Lauren Taylor, 2nd Highest Scoring Acro Group.
“I Might Be Wrong”, Contemporary Group Age 15, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, the Top Scoring Contemporary Group.
“Zoot Suit Riot”, Tap Group Age 15, choreographed by Hailley Caulfield Postle, the Top Scoring Tap Group, received the trophy for Tap Group of the Year.

“Dancer of the Year” in a specific genre means that the dancer has earned the highest score in that genre across all age groups.
