Adam Menzies will instruct Acro during the August 21 to September 1 weeks of Caulfield School of Dance Multidisciplinary Intensives, and September to June courses
We are thrilled to announce that beginning Summer 2017, Adam Menzies will be teaching Acro at Caulfield School of Dance. Adam will instruct Acro including partnering, contortion, hand balancing, and tumbling, during both weeks of the Multidisciplinary Intensives (August 21 to September 1), and he will teach and choreograph from September 2017.
Adam Menzies is an acrobatics, contemporary circus arts, gymnastics (with Level 2 Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics Coach Canada accreditation), and trampoline instructor. He has been coaching for over 15 years while continuing to perform in the productions of companies including Cirque du Soleil, Le Grand Cirque, Cavalia, Royal Caribbean, and MAC Cosmetics; and for Television shows, including being a guest on the Ellen Degeneres show in February of 2011 (and being named “one of her favorite guests of all time”).
In demand as a circus arts expert, Adam has also worked in various capacities, including choreography, direction, and casting, for Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Orlando Science Center Theatre, Vancouver Circus School, and Inner Ring Productions. Adam served as the Acrobatic Director for the 2015 and 2016 Broadway Tour of “Pippin”.
As an International Qualified Coach, Adam teaches seminars for U.S.A. Gymnastics to improve the quality of the program in that country; he contributed to the U.S.A. Gymnastics Coaching Manual, and demonstrates correct technique for executing and teaching skills at an advanced level to U.S.A. Gymnastics coaches.
Adam is a three-time world medalist in the sport of Trampoline Gymnastics, winning both a gold and silver medal in the 2003 World Championships. He is a five-time Canadian National Champion.
Adam loves working in dance and has taught acrobatics at several dance studios in the lower mainland including Project Dance. He is particularly passionate about integrating acrobatic elements such as partnering, contortion, hand balancing, and tumbling as seamless parts of engaging and creative choreographies.
We are so excited to welcome Adam to the Caulfield School of Dance Faculty!
