We extended the close date for the Beautiful Pointe Shoes Silent Auction to April 30, 2017 at 5pm. You may have noticed the shoes on display in the hallway to the kitchen/dining room at the School. As seen in the Tri-City News, this is a unique fund raiser for 2018 Las Vegas Semi-Final of the Youth American Grand Prix competition trip. The trip was a big expense for families. Our dancers, all members of the Half Day Program, led by Jocelyn Wozencroft, were incredibly successful.
Caulfield School of Dance students received Top 12 placements and one of our soloists, a duo (“small ensemble”), and one of our large ensembles were invited to the Final, the culmination of the Semi-Finals held in countries around the world.
Sadly, our dancers were not able to compete at the Youth American Grand Prix Finals in New York City this year due to the financial burden on families. But it was a great honour to be selected by this, the world’s largest ballet competition.
Fifteen dancers created the pointe shoe art. You can bid on the these works of art in the Bid Binder on the reception desk at the School (2610 St. John’s Street). Each pair has an opening bid amount of $10.00.
The group will be competing at the YAGP Semi-Final in Seattle in January 2019 – more fundraising to come!
Thank you for your support!
