
Caitlin Griffin is the Caulfield School of Dance Guest Artist for December, 2020
We are thrilled that our December, 2020, Guest Artist will be Caitlin Griffin, dancer, choreographer, adjudicator, and master teacher in ballet and contemporary dance. Caitlin is also fully certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique®, and has taken this revolutionary training method and combined it with her own extensive research to develop powerful techniques for training dancing bodies. Please see her biography below.
The class will be via ‘Live’ via Zoom and is best done with some equipment. Please see list below.

* There will be no fee and no requirement to preregister for some Caulfield School of Dance students: link provided with invitation by email. All other CSD students are welcome to preregister. All non-CSD Students must preregister to receive the link masterclasses and reservations are first-come-first served.

Equipment List
All items are optional but try to have as much of this equipment as you can for the class; and feel free to improvise with items around your home!
- Yoga Mat
- Physio Ball (a.k.a. Big Exercise Ball)
- Medium sized ball (about the size of a soccer ball, but soft and not fully inflated)
- Lacrosse Ball
- Theraband
- Running Shoes
- Backpack containing 2-3 heavy text books (or equivalent weight)
- 1 sturdy un-upholstered chair (or a stool)
- 1 Skipping Rope
- 2 cans of soup (or 2 2lb-5lb hand weights)

Caitlin Griffin is a dancer, choreographer, adjudicator, and master teacher in ballet and contemporary dance who is also fully certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique®, and has taken this revolutionary training method and combined it with her own extensive research to develop powerful techniques for training dancing bodies.
As a professional dancer, Caitlin has performed across Canada, and in China, Thailand, and Israel, working with companies including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Joshua Beamish’s MOVE: the company, and Sony Pictures (“Center Stage: Turn it Up”). She was a featured professional performer in the 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies together with Alberta Ballet and Ballet BC. Caitlin is also well known for her work in contemporary dance and is an active member of the Margie Gillis (Member of the Order of Canada, etc.) Legacy Project.
Caitlin choreographs ballet and contemporary dance for stage and screen, international competitions, events and galas. Acting as Ballet Choreographer for Team Canada West in 2014, Caitlin’s choreography won 4 gold medals at the international competition in Poland. She is currently an instructor at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver where she teaches Ballet with a focus on using imagery to understand the physics behind the technique.
Caitlin is a sought-after ballet adjudicator and guest teacher for youth, focusing on healthy technique, balanced bodies and injury prevention. Caitlin is also the founder of #hdisfordancing, an initiative to raise awareness for the Huntington Disease Community in Canada through dance.
We are delighted to have Ms. Caitlin, a loved member of the Caulfield School of Dance ballet faculty until her move to Toronto, able to work with dancers here again via Zoom!
