Our four Team Canada tappers are back from their whirlwind week in Germany competing in the World Tap Dance Championships.
Kirsten Volberg’s team were awarded Bronze over all the Junior Large Groups. Rebekah Gill, Jaelan Mills, and Tiana Pazdirek’s Adult Team went up through quarter and semi-finals and just missed moving on to the final round (6 groups); they were awarded 7th overall. And Tiana was awarded 12th of all Adult Tap soloists.
Rebekah Gill, says: “I’ve never seen tap dancers perform at that high of a caliber. Our whole team became a family and supported each other so much, it was amazing. We got to trade souvenirs with other countries and it was really fun to interact and talk with them. I not only learned new tap skills, but I also learned so much about work ethic and teamwork. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
One of the dancers on the team made a video souvenir of the trip you can see on Youtube.
We are so proud of you all. Thank you for doing your best to represent our country and our School at the 2015 World Tap Dance Championships!
