CSD alumna Lyndsey Britten is Alice in Geekenders and the Playwrights Theatre Centre’s full-length, immersive dance and theatre experience, “Alice in Glitterland“, inside East Vancouver’s historic WISE Hall as part of the 2019 Vancouver Fringe Festival.
Lyndsay co-choreographed this show too, while she was the Assistant Choreographer of this summer’s Theatre Under the Stars hit “Newsies“.
Former CSD former instructor Kim Stegar is also in the Fringe show”Amelie”.
In “Alice in Glitterland” audience members will don playing card masks and explore a retro-glamourous world invoking the captivating charm of a 1960s cabaret palace… where every nook and cranny, from the backstage dressing rooms to the stage itself… have been transformed.
The only limit to your adventure is your own penchant for exploration.
Geekenders is known in the Pacific Northwest as being a leader in the creation of immersive theatre. Their last immersive fringe production, Slumber Here, won Spirit of the Fringe 2017.

You’ve fallen down the rabbit hole, and everything is beautiful.As you gain your bearings, you might be passed by a showgirl in a fringed flapper dress, peering haughtily at you from behind a jewelled mask with the long ears of a hare, or an aristocratic woman all in red, caressing scarlet roses only to discover she’s staining her fingers with crimson paint. A man all in white might murmur to you about your lateness as he checks a shining pocket watch and ushers you up a staircase to a fitting for your new hat… where the distracted Hatter thrusts a cup of tea into your hands whilst feverishly asking your opinion of a love poem he’s written for a girl in blue.
You’ve entered Glitterland, and you, like Alice, need to choose whether to stay or leave.
