Mariana Moraes teaches the second week of the Caulfield School of Dance 2020 Ballet and Contemporary Intensive Weeks

Mariana Moraes will be teaching in the Ballet and Contemporary Intensive Week B, at Caulfield School of Dance August 24 to 28.

This summer, we are returning to the use of our beautiful facility with new health and safety measures that include disinfecting between classes and each student having twice the recommended Distancing space in classes.

The Ballet and Contemporary Summer Intensive gives aspiring ballet and contemporary dancers daily classes in ballet, contemporary, and repertoire. There will also be classes in conditioning instructed by the teachers in their fields of expertise such as Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique, etc. The faculty will include international guest artists. Mariana Moraes is a dance artist who is known for her impeccable classical and contemporary technique and her ability to share it with her students. Born in Belem, Brazil, Mariana has been training and performing since the age of six, when she first fell in love with ballet. She was invited to participate in the postgraduate dance program Lamondance, in Vancouver, Canada where she developed her creativity and passion for contemporary and modern dance. She is Certified Ballet Instructor with American Academy of Ballet (N.Y.C., New York).

As a dancer, Mariana has performed internationally. She (along with CSD student Lauren Phillips and teacher Hailley Caulfield Postle) was part of the cast of the movie “Center Stage: On Pointe” working with Choreographer Monica Proenca and Assistant Choreographer and CSD instructor Crystal Wills. Mariana has also worked in partnership with Monica Proenca and Ballet Bloch Canada with the Contemporary Division project. Mariana makes use of her expertise in classical and contemporary ballet and other technical dance languages such as Graham and Horton (modern dance techniques), and contemporary dance including contact improvisation, and release and floor work, in all her teaching, rehearsal direction, and performing work.

Mariana has choreographed for Ballet Bloch’s productions of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Giselle”, Romeo & Juliet”, and “Alice in Wonderland”. She has also created pieces for many competitions and been awarded as a choreographer. Currently, Mariana is based in Mexico and teaching and choreographing internationally. She is happy to be back in Vancouver to share her knowledge and passion with students participating in the Caulfield School of Dance Ballet and Contemporary Intensives.

The Ballet and Contemporary Intensive Weeks are for two levels:
Intermediate Grade III – V R.A.D. or equivalent:
Week A only Monday, August 17 to Friday, August 21, 2020– 10:30 am – 2:30 pm

Advanced Intermediate Foundation R.A.D. and up or equivalent:
Week A Monday, August 17 to Friday, August 21, 2020 – 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Week B Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28, 2020 – 10:30 am – 2:30 pm

All Intensive Weeks (Ballet/Contemporary and Multidisciplinary) are:

Any single Week for $280.00 +gst
Any 2 Weeks for $540.00 +gst
Any 3 Weeks for $780.00 +gst

Featuring guest teachers and Caulfield School of Dance faculty, the Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensive weeks are an invaluable experience. Even one full week produces amazing improvement.
