Gift Ideas for Young Performers

For Christmas and other gift giving occasions, you can help the young performers in your life get the inspiration they need to do their best.

Here is some gift giving inspiration for you!

Tickets to live performances make the best gifts!

No packaging for the landfill. No wrapping required! Make memories (not garbage) with the experience of  seeing live performance.

There are several local opportunities to see the holiday classic “The Nutcracker” including productions featuring several Caulfield School of Dance students. Please search on-line or contact your favourite ticket outlet for the best option for you and your family.

We posts recommended performances here on the CSD website and on our Facebook page too.

And The Dance Centre’s online BC Dance Performance Calendar is a pretty comprehensive guide to what’s on stage month by month.

Books and magazines about the performing arts make great gifts too!

The Grey’s Anatomy Colouring Book is a fun and effective way of learning about human anatomy.

Caulfield School of Dance Alumus Alex Wong on the cover of Dance Magazine

Dance Magazine (which featured a profile of Caulfield School of Dance Alumnus Alex Wong as its cover story for its June 2015 issue and named Caulfield School of Dance Alumnus Ben Freemantle one of the Caulfield School of Dance Alumnus “25 to Watch” in it’s June 2018 issue) is the world’s most read dance magazine and an important industry resource for dancers worldwide.

The Dance Current (which featured a profile of Caulfield School of Dance Principal Cori Caulfield as its cover story for the April 2003 issue) focuses on contemporary dance in Canada.

A subscription to Dance International Magazine which is published (online only now) by the Vancouver Ballet Society is still an excellent gift.

Special training opportunities can be a gift that transforms a students’s path!

A private lesson with a Caulfield School of Dance instructor ($70 to $100* per hour) can give any student a huge boost. (Contact us if you would like a Gift Certificate pdf. to present.)

A gift of a Caulfield School of Dance Summer Program makes an excellent gift. (One Intensive Week provides as much instruction time as 1 hour, once per week classes for over half a year!) Remarkable improvement is the usual result. (Contact us if you would like a Gift Certificate pdf. to present.)

A membership to the Vancouver Ballet Society, who host marvellous master classes throughout each year and the amazing annual Spring Seminar ,will ensure you get email notification of all the wonderful events they host, audition notifications, etc. and a price reduction on all their offerings throughout the year.

* Private lesson rates vary according to discipline and the student’s current CSD performing arts program.

Don’t forget the stocking stuffers!

Every dance student with longer hair will love pretty scrunchies and rhinestone hair barrettes!

Scrunchies $4 each or 3 for $10.00.

Rhinestone Barrettes $3 each or 2 for $5.00.

These lovely things can be purchased at the Caulfield School of Dance office while supplies last.

Wishing you an inspired and inspiring gift-giving season!
