Regular September 2015 to June 2016 classes begin Saturday, September 12, 2015. The Half day training option begins Tuesday, September 22.
The Half day technique classes are Tuesdays and Fridays, 2 – 3:30pm.
Half day training requires leaving middle or high school early at least Tuesday and/or Friday afternoons each week.
Half day technique courses support all forms of dance especially modern/contemporary dance, jazz dance, and all forms of ballet.
Students taking advantage of the Half day training option can opt out of taking further technique courses on Tuesdays and/or Fridays. For most participants, this means being done all training, classes, and rehearsal by 3:30pm to 5:pm on Tuesdays and/or Fridays.
On the other weekdays prior to 3:30pm, students who are off school early have the ability to book private or semiprivate instruction and/or do self-directed work in a studio.
Half day technique courses focus on conditioning and what each in the small group of students most needs instruction.
Experts advise that expertise in anything requires an investment of at least ten thousand hours. To dance professionally, a student must do vocational training in childhood and adolescence, so the accumulation of those hours cannot wait until graduation from high school. To make getting in those 10 000 hours a more reasonable proposition, we offer Summer training, Performance Training Company Programs, and Half day training September to June.
Half Day training is not required for membership in a Performance Training Company program but Half Day technique courses are included in Performance Training Company All Inclusive Tuition. Half day technique classes are for students taking courses at Caulfield School of Dance six days a week,
Whether a student is taking any early afternoon (Half day training) group technique courses or not, private or semiprivate instruction is available* to all students in all disciplines both before and after 3:00pm on weekdays to develop skills or to prepare performing pieces. Weekend private/semiprivate instruction is available* also.
