Caulfield School of Dance is very proud of Kaia Goddard who has been accepted to Chapman University’s Dance Department with the Provost Scholarship, and as one of only a few applicants receiving the “Chapman Celebrates” scholarship based on her dance audition.
Chapman, ranked in the top 15% of American colleges and universities, has an admissions acceptance rate of only 54%, and according to The Princeton Review, is one of the best institutions for undergraduate education in all of the United States.

Caulfield School of Dance student Kaia Goddard, accepted to Chapman University with Provost and “Chapman Celebrates” scholarships
Kaia applied to Chapman with essays, her resume, reference letters, and a recorded video audition. She was then invited to a virtual callback in which select applicants took a ballet class. Kaia also used studio space at Caulfield School of Dance to perform her self-choreographed solo for the Dance Department Chair.
The Provost Scholarship is an impressive $28,000 USD per year, for 4 years which Kaia received based on her paper-based application, which included her essays, grades, community involvement, reference letters and her dance history as listed on her resume. As a Provost Scholar she is recognized for “significant academic achievement and outstanding talent”. The “Chapman Celebrates” scholarship is $3750 USD per year, for 4 years, and based solely on Kaia’s dance specific application and callback audition.
Kaia’s Mom, Tannis, thanks Caulfield School of Dance “for everything you’ve done to guide and support Kaia to develop and achieve so many goals already. In such a challenging time, I am so inspired to see Kaia striving toward her future with joy and enthusiasm with her acceptance to Chapman University.” Tannis also wanted to give special thanks “to the amazing Ms Hailley Caulfield Postle, who has been so supportive in so many ways to Kaia as she pushed herself to achieve her big dance goals over the last couple of years.”
Kaia has applied to and been accepted to several prestigious schools. She is hoping to be able to accept her invitation to Chapman University as her first choice, and to pursue a double major there in business and dance. This will be contingent on securing further financial aid. It seems that Chapman is also hoping to welcome Kaia!
Kaia began her dance education at Caulfield School of Dance as a preschooler and then became a member of the Performance Training Company from age 9; and from age 12, the Professional Training Division. She was awarded the Award of Excellence, the Caulfield School of Dance top scholarship award, in June of 2019, and has continued to be an example of teamwork and the pursuit of individual achievement into this, her secondary school graduating year. Whichever postsecondary program invitation she ultimately accepts, we know Kaia will soar.
We are so excited for you Kaia!
